Annapolis is a hidden gem in an overcrowded industry. The Scalabrini family, has been making wine in their own small vineyard since the 1980s and what's cool is that the family is involved in every phase of the business. Their vineyard is very small and they do not make a great volume of wine, but what they do make is excellent. What is very apparent is that they are passionate about making the very best wine possible. They eschew advertising hype as vigorously as they avoid unnatural pesticides. You will often find the owner pouring excellent wine, and sharing wonderful knowledge of the local areas beautiful spots. Regular visitors swear by the 08 Cab and the 07 Pinot Noir; their reds are complex and full bodied but soft on the tannins. Very well developed. When you are planning your visit, be sure to bring a picnic because there are tables out front over looking the valley with absolutely gorgeous views!

A close-by family-owned "micro" winery with award wines. Enjoy their tasting room and area for picnics. Only a half hour's drive away in the hills above Sea Ranch. See our rental guide book for directions.

A local winery owned by the Scalabrini family. If you don't mind driving a bit, you will surely enjoy visiting this picturesque winery. I love there Chardonnay.
