Etna South Excursion The proposed excursion takes place mainly on the southern side of the volcano and will allow you to visit the most evocative places of Etna in a unique and incomparable landscape. The itinerary includes the ascent with a cable car service up to an altitude of 2,500 meters, from where you will continue on foot with the guide up to the base of the summit craters at an altitude of about 2900 meters. At this altitude you can admire a splendid panorama of the summit craters of Etna in all their grandeur (Central Crater which is divided into Bocca Nuova and Voragine - South-East Crater - North-East Crater) and the craters of the most recent eruptions of the volcano, as well as the crossing of a lava flow tunnel. After visiting the base of the summit area, we will continue the descent on foot, during which we will pass near the panoramic point of the Belvedere of the Valle del Bove and its places of other recent eruptions. Return to the starting point by cable car. This excursion has a total duration of about 5 hours round trip. Medium difficulty, but it is particularly suggestive for the spectacular nature of the places to be visited, it is recommended for people / groups used to trekking in the mountains. We recommend: hiking boots, long or terry socks, long pants, t-shirts, sweatshirts or k-way, fleece, hat or cap, bandana or scarf, picnic bags (water, sandwiches, fruit, snacks, etc. .. for lunch on the way).
