To avoid: a tourist trap with lousy food and unfriendly staff. Such a pity because the views are great!
Brasserie located in the renovated Old Fish Market. The interior is just as impressive as the outside and the view of the water and the Great Butcher’s hall is magnificent. On the menu mainly classic dishes or an interpretation of a classic.
Tourist info and a great place for sightseeing and taking pictures of Ghent from the water
The superb Baroque building at Sint-Veerleplein No. 5 is the old fish market, built in 1689 according to plans by Artus Quellin. The gateway depicts Neptune and allegorical representations of the Scheldt (male) and Leie (female). To the northeast, the Kraanlei Canal adjoins Sint-Veerleplein, all lined with elegant houses.
