Artifacts from the wreck, light refreshments, local crafts, stories from the wreck and rescue efforts by villagers.
A large mass grave marks the site where more than 200 of the 600 victims of the largest passenger ship sinking, prior to the Titanic, occurred. A very interesting place to visit, and relatively unknown.
A great little spot to learn about the largest marine disaster in the North Atlantic, prior to the Titanic. Artifacts, refreshments and more.
Museum, tea room and gift shop with no entry fee and community driven. The S.S. Atlantic sank off the coast in 1873 and was owned by the same company as the Titanic -- the White Star Line. There is a short trail down to the mass burial site from the museum building and it is a beautiful area to explore in its own right. Off the beaten path, so you aren't likely to find any bus tours there. Check out Sandy Cove Beach while you're there.
