It's a dark and cozy German restaurant & bar until you climb two flights of stairs up to the patio in the back. THEN you'll see why this place is a special place to have a few beers and maybe a delicious sausage platter. It can get a little noisy on weekend nights, but has great outdoor ambiance for any sized group to spread out and enjoy the LA weather. On a weeknight, when it's a little quieter, I think the patio would count as "romantic".
