It's a diverse, multiethnic neighbourhood with coffee shops, cool bars, and vintage and boutique shops. Restaurants offer food from all over the world, from India to Sweden. Very hip and convenient!

Sandwiched between Landsdowne and Ossington station, this is an up-and-coming neighbourhood with plenty of vintage & antique stores, a bustling art scene, bars and food. Bar Neon has a lovely patio and try Ruru baked for an Asian-inspired ice cream flavours. From Jane station, take the subway east and get off at Landsdowne station. Explore this neighbourhood by walking east on Bloor St.

Some of our faves and some of the obvious from our neighbourhood: Dufferin Mall - traditional indoor mall with the following anchor shops: No Frills (large grocery store) Walmart Toys R Us Winners/HomeSense Marshall's Dollarama LCBO (booze) The Beer Store (beer) Many, many other stores, but lacking most of the higher end shops you'll find in more refined indoor malls Faves on Bloor Street: Paradise Theatre - very hip theatre, restaurant, cocktail bar, patio, wine shop, and café! Seoul Shakers - incredible Korean fusion and cocktails Sugo/Conzo Pizza - Italian sandwiches, pasta, and pizza in adjacent storefronts Mumbaikar - really interesting Indian fusion (Indian nachos, anyone?) Komi Banh Mi Bar - Great banh mi! Latin World - Legit tacos and other Mexican staples 3 Speed - Bar and perfect backyard patio Bar Neon - Greek-leaning resto/bar and equally great backyard patio Burdock Brewery - beers/beer shop, food, patio, concert venue! The Common & Field Trip - our go-to places for great coffee! Bakerbots - ice cream shop and bakery, with ridiculous ice cream sandwiches Shoppers Drug Mart - if not from Ontario, this is *the* drug store for all your drug store needs Gold City - local produce Nasso Tahlo - Portuguese butcher shop and deli Gasparro's - a little further down Bloor (less than a 15 minute walk east), but a world class butcher shop and Toronto landmark And if you're looking for brick and mortar weed shops, there's about 10,000 of them along Bloor Street. Just throw a rock. Faves on Geary Street (just north of us, a former and still partial industrial strip, with an emerging cultural scene): Greater Good - beer hall, free arcade games, patio, and excellent pizzas Parallel - some of the best middle eastern food you'll find Famiglia Baldassarre - "pasta shop", serving fresh homemade pasta at specific times to limited guests. Make sure you're one! Blood Brothers - small brewery with incredible craft beers for drinking in or taking out Gaucho Pie Co. - I'm not expert, but best empanadas I've ever had Parks & Recreation - if you're looking to get outside, here are some great options: Dufferin Grove Park - city park with spots for lounging, playing, and cooling off. Also has a farmer's market! Dovercourt Park - same as above only smaller and little bit more of a neighbourhood spot rather than a destination spot. Summer nights are especially great, with people getting together on blankets and enjoying beers, wine, food, and sunsets Wallace Emerson Community Centre - closest city community centre, with free swimming (indoor), ice skating (seasonal, outdoor), and a skate park. Exercise/fitness room can be used for a fee Dental/Medical/Veterinary Clinics - all of these exists within a very short walking distance along Bloor Street. Not something we use often, but an online search will certainly lead the way! Looking for other suggestions? Type "Bloorcourt" or "Bloordale" or "Dovercourt Village" and "BlogTO" into your preferred search engine and find three curated lists of the best spots in our immediate locale. You'll find everything we just mentioned and all the great spots we're forgetting. Finally, reach out to us! We love our neighbourhood and would be happy to make other suggestions for your more specific needs. (E.g. looking for a place that sells every type of balloon you could possibly imagine? We know the place...)

As featured in the NY Times, takeout joints and hip bars have long characterized Toronto's west-side Bloordale Village. A couple of years ago, artists began colonizing Sterling Road's boxy brick buildings for studio space, and dealers are now transforming once unoccupied industrial and retail spaces into buzzy galleries. Along Bloor Street West, hip restaurants and shops are popping up to serve both Bloordale's new arrivals and the curious rediscovering a once-neglected part of town.
