Skokloster Castle is considered one of the great Baroque castles of Europe. Built between 1654 and 1676 for Count Carl Gustaf Wrangel it is a monument to the Swedish Age of Greatness, the period in the middle of the seventeenth Century when Sweden expanded to become one of the major powers in Europe. Hours & admissions The castle is closed for daily visits during the winter season, but it is possible to visit if you pre-book a guided tour. Its open selected weekends in the spring and then open daily during the summer season. Opening Hours 2022 Open weekends in September 11.00–16.00 Autumn break October 29 – November 6, 11.00–16.00. Christmas market November 26–27, 11.00–16.00. Admisson and Tickets There is always free admission to the exhibition "Skokloster - between the battlefield and the starry sky" on the ground floor and the Wrangel floor upstairs. Exhibition Chatelaines and Convent Sisters Entrance fee: SEK 90 (free for everyone up to 19 years). They offer a 10-minute introduction to the exhibition, every hour at 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16.
