Lakes in the neighborhood are MANY! You have your choice between Bde Maka Ska and Lake Harriet to the West and Lake Nokomis to the East. There is also the smaller charming pond in Powderhorn Park.

Lakes connected in Minneapolis. Lake of the Isles, Lake of the Isles, Lake Bde Maka Ska, and Lake Harriet. Lake of the Isles is the smallest. Lake Bde Maka Ska has playgrounds, volleyball nets, picnic areas, rentals. Lake Harriet is my favorite to walk or run. There is a Bandshell with music or movies at dark in the summer. Large playground, picnic areas, rentals and a cute place for food, drinks and ice cream called Bread and Pickle. They all have beaches. Also check out the Lake Harriet Rose gardens!

🚣🏼♀️ Visit Bde Maka Ska Lake (previously Lake Calhoun) to experience sailing, paddle boarding, lounging on the beach, bike ride, and much more in the middle of the city.

This is a fantastic place to walk around the lakes, and also a wonderful place to just go to watch a sunset. You can rent out paddle boards, canoes, and additional rentals to go on the lakes, which is a nice perk in the summer!
