Great park designed by the same person as Golden Gate Park, Central Park, Park Slope in Brooklyn. Also, Fairyland was the inspiration for Walt Disney.

Nice detour if you are walking around the lake. They have one of the oldest bonsai trees.

If you are out on a walk around the lake then stroll into the Lake Merritt Botanical Gardens and Bonsai Garden. They have quite an impressive collections of bonsais and beautiful gardens.
