The only place we're recommending outside of PV proper... Makai will blow your mind. Unassuming, on the side of the highway, but truly original and delicious. The chef/owner brings ingredients from his garden, treats them with care, and is making some of the most interesting food we've had in the region (tuna cured like prosciutto anyone?). The trick about the location is that it's across the street from the entrance to La Lancha, one of the best surf spots in the area, so the hours are 12-6 to allow the owner to surf before and after service.

Makai is next to la lancha surf beach. Most people park here and walk a cross the Highway to the beach to surf. On your way back stop here after surfing for mouth watering ceviche and seafood. No views but excellent fish and chips after surfing or beach day. Closes early at 6pm
