This museum is wonderful and portrays the rich history of Muscatine. Did you know Muscatine used to be the clamming and Pearl Button Capitol of the World? Check it out!

At the time when The Pearl House was built, Muscatine was the capitol of the pearl button industry. The museum is only a five minute walk from The Pearl House, and will give you a flavor of the Muscatine that once was... Crushed clam shells can still be found under the pavement in many Muscatine streets and allies.
