The Statue of Liberty is located in Mytilene, in the Tsamakia area, and more specifically in the location where until 1922 was the Kastrili fortress. The creator is allegedly the sculptor Gregorios Zevgolis, while the drawing was edited by the Lesvian painter Georgios Iakovidis. The similarities with the "big brother" in New York are many: both are at the entrance to the harbor, they have oversized pedestals, they hold a torch with their right hand and are made of bronze. However, the impression that it is a copy of the New York Freedom Statue is incorrect. The inauguration of the statue took place in 1930.
