The most accessible to the visitor monastery of Arcadia.Just 4km before the inland Astros and 7km from the coastal Astros.It is built on the valley of Tanos,on the ruins of Ancient Eva, one of the most important villages of Thyrea. It is surrounded by the mountains of Zavitsa, Paleopanagia and Elliniko. The most possible etymology of the name of the monastery is from the Latin word Lucus, which means Holy Forest. According to the historic and archaeological elements the monastery has been built on an old -Christian church and on the walls of the main church we can see ancient bas-reliefs and architraves. There, you can see a duct of Roman Times and the monastery is considered to be a combination of greek and christian culture. For those who love walking, from the ground of the monastery starts the path to the ancient Elliniko or Tihio.

The Loukou Monastery is a historical monastery dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Savior. It is located 3 km from Astros, next to the Tanos river and very close to the village of Kato Doliana. In antiquity, it is believed that in the monastery's place there was the ancient city of Eva and the sanctuary of war-state (son of Asclepius god). During the 2nd century AD, the sophist Herod the Attic raised next to the monastery, the famous mansion, which was revealed in recent years. During the early Christian years (5th century), the temple was built in this place.

Βυζαντινό μοναστήρι της Μεταμόρφωσης του Σωτήρος 11ου αιώνα με παλαιοχριστιανικά μάρμαρα και υλικά από την παρακείμενη Έπαυλη του Ηρώδη του Αττικού η οποία δυστυχώς δεν είναι επισκέψιμη.Η αγιογράφηση είναι πρωτότυπη του 16 ου αιώνος όπως και το τέμπλο.Δίπλα υπάρχει ρωμαικό υδραγωγείο.
