The newest park in Tacoma that completes the 20+ year endeavor to connect Downtown Tacoma to Point Defiance with walking/biking paths all along the waterfront - over 3 miles one way! Check out the bridge and blue slides (like San Francisco) over the ferry car line for the best view ever!

You can see the park to the west from your Point Ruston Water View Studio. It's a beautiful walk along the water 1 mile to the entrance. There are picnic tables, water fountain and restrooms there.

The history of Dune peninsula is absolutely spectacular. I highly recommend reading into the history of this park. Dune Peninsula has a real life chutes and ladders that kids (and adults) LOVE. Along with this there is a lovely walking trail with 360 degree views of the Puget Sound.

Enjoy amazing views on the 11 acre Dune Peninsula which connects Point Defiance Park to Park Ruston. Local tip: there’s free parking at the Dune Peninsula with the ability walk for hours along Ruston without worrying about paying for parking.
