City/town information

Levittown, Toa Baja
Levittown is part of the municipality of Toa Baja, it is one of the largest planned communities in Puerto Rico. Levittown's main avenue is " Boulevard". It has the largest collection of small businesses in the entire community. Los Dominicos Avenue is the second main avenue and connects Levittown with other areas, for example, the Sabana Seca sector and the city of Bayamón. Levittown has more than three shopping centers, including Plaza Davison and Rio Hondo Mall. Highway 165 connects Levittown with the towns of Toa Baja, Cataño and Dorado, Puerto Rico. From this route you can see the radar domes of Punta Salinas and El Morro. At night, the Castillo del Morro lighthouse and the Palo Seco plant are visible. The coastal area along the highway near the Bayamón River is popular with local surfers and is known as Playa Cochino (Playa Cochinos), probably due to the brown waters caused by sediment flowing from the river. Punta Salinas, the public beach, is home to a unit of the Puerto Rico Air National Guard, the 140 ADS, which provides air traffic control support to FAA, military and police operations. It also houses a Civil Air Patrol squad, one of several in the municipality of Toa Baja. Levittown enjoys a tropical climate throughout the year. The water tower, also known to pilots as the "Levittown water tank," provides a visual navigation control point for aircraft flying to Isla Grande Airport or Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport.
