A great place to spend an afternoon just up the Parkway. Price Like has canoe rentals and fishing. Also there are great walking trails but the best one circles the lake. There are also picnic tables available.

Just drive North on the Parkway. The Moses H. Cone Memorial Park is a country estate in honor of Moses H. Cone in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. It is on the Blue Ridge Parkway with access at milepost 294. Be sure to find Bass Lake (next to Blowing Rock) for a nice walk around the lake.

Just drive North on the Parkway. The Moses H. Cone Memorial Park is a country estate in honor of Moses H. Cone in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. It is on the Blue Ridge Parkway with access at milepost 294. Be sure to find Bass Lake (next to Blowing Rock) for a nice walk around the lake.
It is a short drive to Grandfather Mountain. In fact you can see it on the drive into the Yurt. It is the highest peak on the eastern escarpment of the Blue Ridge Mountains with lots of hiking trails and some of the best scenery in the area. At the visitors center there is a wildlife viewing area and museum.
