Sightseeing

If you visit Sioux Falls, you need to see "The falls," located at the north end of downtown. Go up the tower for the best view of the spot that led the wagon trains to stop and settle here.

Downtown is the place to be. While you're there, you should check out the city's newest landmark. The steel sculpture spans across the Big Sioux River, on the picturesque riverwalk area. It's impressive during the day and night.

Sioux Falls Parks and Green Spaces

Sioux Falls parks are great for families and adults too. Here's a guide to them all: https://www.siouxfalls.org/parks/parks My recommendations: If you like fishing, family park is great. McKennan Park is the "crown jewel" of the system and includes a great wading pool, playgrounds, gardens and bandshell for concerts/events. Terrace Park has the Japanese Gardens, including two acres of walking paths and beautiful landscaping. Sertoma Park has multiple playgrounds, access to the bike trail, butterfly garden and outdoor campus.

We love to talk about the weather

Sioux Falls residents can talk about the weather for hours. That's probably because it's continually changing. We get snow and bitter cold and temperatures can hit the 100s with plenty of humidity. Pack layers and generally have something a little warmer (or colder) than you need just in case we get a rapid change.
