For the history enthusiast, Youghal is Ireland's 2nd oldest town and full of wonderful stories and ancient buildings and ruins. Great for historic walks. Sir Walter Raleigh had a home here in the 16th century and St. Mary's Church has been dated back to the early 1200's, great tour in side is free but donations are welcome.

Renamed 'The Raleigh Quarter' you can get a guided tour or simply stroll the historic centre of Youghal, the 11th century walls, the clock tower and this beautiful church.

An absolutely beautiful church. in the graveyard look for the angler's grave - the inscription reads something like: "He was an expert angler his time, till death, envious his talent, reeled him landed on this spot"
