Love live Jazz? Café Central is the a place to go. In February 1991 WIRE magazine made a list of the best European jazz clubs and Café Central was in eighth place. Since 2002 the prestigious American jazz magazine Down Beat, published a list with the 100 places to listen to jazz in the world: it includes Café Central. In 2005 the Academy of Music awarded the Prize for the Diffusion of Music to the Central Café of Madrid. In 2016, the British newspaper The Guardian included Café Central in its list of 10 best jazz clubs in Europe. Drop by or better yet, make reservations as it fills up. It has served as a cultural platform for various activities, such as literary gatherings, meetings of photographers, illustrators and, above all, records have been recorded.
