Hovdala castle The buildings at Hovdala Castle have been constructed and altered over a period of 500 years. The people who lived here have left their mark on the castle. The last residents moved out in 1981. The oldest parts of Hovdala date from the 16th century. The so-called anchoring irons visible on the facade of one of the buildings are marked with the date 1511. Take a walk in the surroundings at the castle and have a meal at the resturant located in the castle.

Hovdala (10 min drive). This is where important battles between Sweden and Denmark took place during the 17th century. Today you have nice walks here, there is also a cafe and restaurant. During the summer they have concerts and lectures too.

Well worth a visit. *Hovdala Slott is a gem among Swedish castles ... no baroque palace with great pomp, but modesty in appearance ... and that's what is the special. Very nice park also. Six-hour Castle restaurant and the castle shop are very, very nice. *Nice destination, nice excellent hiking trails in the area, such as Caspers Trail (4.2 km) and Dust Trail (2.9 km) Fine with coffee in the café after exercise. *Exciting place and good food. Highly recommend a visit.
