This is a fantastic Roman Site with an impressive Amphitheatre and barracks, wonderful Roman Baths and a great museum where you may meet some Roman soldiers and try on some armour. Please note, at the moment entry into the museum is via online booking only.

Interesting museum with Roman baths and amphitheatre - only about 20 minutes drive from here. Caerleon is a pretty village to have a wonder around too.

The Welsh word "caer" means "fortifications". Although not on the same scale as Caerwent, the Ran ruins at Caerleon are better preserved. Although you have to pay for entry to some things, there is lot more information available to justify the cost
