Just 20 minutes away by car this is an important Roman site. Much to see including the impressively large roman wall. There is also a reconstructed villa.

Wroxeter Roman City - Discover urban-living 2,000 years ago at Viriconium (Wroxeter) - once the fourth largest city in Roman Britain. Wander the remains of the bathhouse and explore a reconstructed town house from a city which was almost as large as Pompeii.

A unique and well-preserved Roman city just outside Shrewsbury en route to Ironbridge, Wroxeter is a wonderful and inspiring place to visit.

Viriconium ( now Wroxeter) - was once the fourth largest city in Roman Britain. The remains are extensive and include the bathhouse from a city which was almost as large as Pompei. there us also a reconstructed town house built as part of a Channel 4 documentary. We like to combine coming to Wroxeter with a visit to nearby Haughmond Abbey
