Taicho-ro is famous for its picturesque view of the ocean and islands.It is in Fukuzen-ji Temple.The temple was built in Heian period.(It was founded by Kuya Shonin around 950 under the order of Emperor Murakami.)In Edo period, the temple was also used as a guesthouse for Korean diplomats.Taicho-ro was built around 1690 and used as a reception hall.In 1711, a Korean diplomat described the view from Taicho-ro as "the most beautiful scenery in Japan." Today you can still enjoy the same view --- the calm ocean, Benten Island and its pagoda, and Sensui Island. It costs 200 yen to enter but this is a must see in Tomonoura.Also, don’t forget to stroll around the port of Tomo.
