Want a cheap meal that's not fast food? Montrose Deli, which is a pretty small local supermarket, sells home-made food sometimes at $4 a plate. Don't expect a fancy meal, but expect a great deal. A lot of laborers stop here to grab a mealv. Mix of eastern european inspired/american diner food at a serious value. You can walk or it's a short drive.
