Check out the arboretum at Warren Wilson College on the north side of town. Bonsai, trails with labeled native plants, and several original log cabins can be seen here.

Wonderful, beautiful small college. Traditional work-program school since inception in 1894. Location of Swannanoa Gathering and Old Farmer's Ball contradance.
