La Jolla Shores is great for tanning, swimming and kids. There is a small parking lot that can be a breeze if you go early, but later in the day I would go for street parking.

Best beach in the San Diego area. The water is calm, the views from the beach amazing and water is slightly warmer.

Conveniently located just 5min away from your Airbnb, La Jolla Shores is a must when you visit San Diego. You can rent kayaks and paddle out on your own to explore caves carved out of sandstones; the biggest, and easiest to reach is Clam Cave. Be aware of the tides!

Awesome beach that is very kid friendly as it stays shallow for a bit longer so can wade up to your ankles with the kiddos. There is also a playground right next to the beach and it is fairly common to see dolphins playing in the waves!
