The really cool sea fortress, founded in 1748, is a sight that the kids love! Suomenlinna is a Unesco World Heritage site and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Finland. Visitors are not charged an admission fee – you only need to pay for the ferry crossing. Suomenlinna is also a borough of Helsinki. The many cafés, restaurants and terraces of Suomenlinna are charming oases. There are plenty of options, from cafés and lunch restaurants to fine dining. All of the cafés and restaurants serve during the summer season and many of them also serve visitors during the winter season. In addition, the fortress has a brewery. Waterbus tickets can be bought either online, at the ticket booth in the Market Square or on board the bus. Please note, that only return tickets can be bought online.
