There’s always a wait to get into Tony’s, but it’s a good excuse to take a walk around North Beach, San Francisco’s historically Italian-American neighborhood. There are so many cool stores, cafes, and restaurants right around here to check out and talk about. Once you get inside, Tony’s is cozy and full of wonderful smells. Pizza is king here, and comes in a lot of specific regional styles, like Romana, Sicilian, New York—even unexpected twists like “Grandma,” Detroit, and St. Louis. It’s always fun to share something new.

The best pizza in San Francisco! Pro Tip: You can join the waitlist online to reduce your wait time by using Yelp. I recommend adding yourself to the waitlist about 30 minutes before you'd like to dine, and an 60 minutes ahead of time on Friday and Saturday nights.

The perfect Detroit-Style pizza West of the Mississippi! It’s square, extra thick crust that is crispy on the bottom. They do twice baked crust onWednesdays! Google that to find out more, or just try it!

Get there early to avoid the line. They serve a certain number of wood fired pizzas with a special crust. Highly recommended.
