The natural pools of Coccorrocci or Monte Ferru are located within the territory of Gairo, a town in Ogliastra, and are also simply called Is Piscinas due to the presence of a series of small pools along the path of the river that feeds them. They include a series of small jumps with small waterfalls and lakes, which give rise to real small pools that are beautiful to see but also very important as regards the fauna that populates them. Specifically, in fact, in the Is Piscinas natural pools we can find an entirely Sardinian rarity, that is the Sardinian newt, one of the rarest species of amphibians in all of Europe. The stream that feeds is piscinas di Coccorrocci, with clear and transparent waters, originates from the source of su Accu and axina, of Monte Ferru. This place is dominated by unspoiled nature, by the presence of dense vegetation, made mostly of Mediterranean scrub. Along the path that will lead you to the pools, it is not uncommon to meet beautiful specimens of cattle and other animals.

Per giungervi è necessario Superare le spiagge di Cardedu sino ad arrivare all'ingresso del campeggio Coccorrocci. Lì, troverete sulla vostra sinistra una stradina che dovrete imboccare e che vi farà costeggiare il perimetro del campeggio. Svoltare a destra in corrispondenza della fine del campeggio, e procedere sempre dritti finché possibile. A questo punto, potrete parcheggiare l'auto e procedere a piedi, seguendo le indicazioni che incontrerete lungo il sentiero. O pure : Traccia con Google Maps. ( Piscine Naturali Di Monte Ferru (Is Piscinas) ) Questa area è di elevatissimo pregio naturalistico ed ambientale, classificata infatti come Sito di Importanza Comunitaria

Non perderti un bel bagno nella fresca acqua delle piscine naturali, necessario parcheggiare a qualche centinaio di metri e proseguire a piedi, leggermente tortuoso il percorso sia piedi che in macchina....
