A river with so many options! A walking track through town stopping at 7010 Cafe (31 Collingwood Street) or River Kitchen Cafe ( 81 Trafalgar St) as you make your way to town.

You can walk or cycle a long way beside the Maitai River.

You can walk from this trail in the city and follow it all the way up to the Waahi Taakaro Golf Course. Great for hiking, running and biking. It's mostly flat but you can really get away from it all in a relatively short time. In the summer there's great swimming spots all along the way.
