The crown jewel in the Austin parks system. Natural spring fed pool. Kid's play area, train, hiking pays, picnic areas.

Cool off in refreshingly chilly water during the heat of summer. Spring fed from underground so the water is always 68 degrees F.

65 degree temperature all year round whether you want to swim or sit by the water and admire the view it is an absolute MUST SEE. Some interesting history: Long before Barton Springs Pool was built, the springs were considered sacred and were used for purification rituals by the Tonkawa Native…

This natural, spring-fed pool is open yea-round and is an iconic Austin spot. There's a $9 entrance fee for non-residents, though check the website for open swim times.

“Zilker Park is where ACL happens, where a great Zilker Christmas Light Show is, where the Stevie Ray Vaughn bronze is. Close enough to Casa Willow and Holly Neighborhood. Google what is happening at Zilker when you come.”

“Great place to see a movie. They tend to have good indie films here too and fun retro movie nights. The food is good there too. Buffalo cauliflower and Royale with Cheese are my favorites, though if I could have dessert for dinner, the soft, warm chocolate chip cookies with ice cream is amazing. ”

Capitol Building
“The pink-granite building is the centerpiece of downtown Austin, perched on a hill at 12th Street and Congress Avenue. Free guided tours are held daily, starting in the South Foyer, but brochures are also available on the first floor for self-guided tours. The Texas Legislature meets every two years, so you’ll have to check the schedule if you want to see an actual session in progress.”

Rock Kulübü
“South Congress is SO fun and the Continental Club is the place for music there. You never knew who might show up. One of Austin’s best live music listening rooms. The upstairs continental gallery is more of a listening room with a bar, where the club downstairs is a bar with music, so pick your speed and head over there. ”
