Great pub within walking distance! Great to walk to and then get a roast and a pint. Dog friendly. Also has a pub garden with views across the amber valley.

Busy popular pub, with top carvery on sundays 12 -5pm. Recommend a walk from ambergate (get train) through shining cliff woods to the pub for lunch, then back down to whatstandwell to catch train home

Very old pet friendly pub, 40 minutes walk, only to be done in the daylight recommended as there are no street lights, also.. The Hanging Gate (Blackbrook)pub/restaurant with open fires, Le Mistral (Wirksworth) wine bar/restaurant, The Black Swan ( Idridghay) newly opened

Not really a "drinkers" pub anymore, but does a fantastic Sunday carvery and is within easy walking distance.
