Eat a local style breakfast. Get the Portuguese Sweet Bread French Toast, best I’ve ever had! Or the Loco Moco Bowl with sweet onions and Hamakua mushrooms. Yum! Order outside and seat yourself in the dining area or do take out.

Within walking distance, Gramma's kitchen has all you could want for breakfast and lunch. They are open for dinner on Friday and Saturday. I like the ono fish platter with hash browns. Their Portugues soup is really good too.

This place is really good. But I admit I found the onion rings eggy. So I wouldn't order them again, but everything else was great. Cut little town to explore near the Waipio Valley.
