Visit the shops, spas, restaurants, or play golf. Just walking around the grounds is wonderful because it is a very large property with beautiful buildings and landscaping.

2 Great Courses and 1 for the kid: #1 THE PRESERVE Experience golf and nature in harmony as you play this championship course strategically placed in some of Minnesota’s best forest and wetlands. The Preserve is known for its scenic elevated tees and its tour speed greens. Last season, a near million dollar renovation changed the size and shape of all five sets of tees and allowed for even more pristine playing conditions. The remodeled clubhouse features one of the best deck views in Minnesota. #2 THE PINES Relax in the beauty of Minnesota’s rich landscape of forest as you explore all 27 holes at the Pines. A true “player’s course,” the recently renovated Lakes & Woods and Marsh nines provide a challenging, variety of holes to play. #3 THE GARDEN The Garden offers 9 holes of leisurely play with 6” cups and kid’s tee boxes to encourage a family friendly game. Grand View Lodge has provided guests relaxing vacation experiences for more than 90 years. Its roots grow deep in the history of the Brainerd Lakes area. Selected in 1979 for the National Registry of Historic Places, Grand View Lodge’s Main Lodge offers one of the most well-preserved examples of early resort log construction in existence today.

There are many reasons to go to Grand VIew Lodge. One of our favorites is to have dinner at Char Steakhouse. It is the lodge's steakhouse, as the name implies, and it fits the bill. The dining room is a gathering place with a massive fireplace, log construction and cowhide banquettes. The steaks and fish are prepared smoked, seared, roasted or grilled. A full cocktail, wine and beer list. The atmosphere of this lodge steakhouse is as you'd expect, woody, warm interior; roaring fireplaces in winter and cool cocktails in the summer. The lodge is another gem in the Brainerd Lakes area with a historic century-long story.
