Kosuge Jinja - Okusha is a must see, must hike. The path goes through old growth sugi (cedar), an ancient path to what was one of the first monasteries in these parts, deep in the mountain at a sacred spot that many believe is a `Power Spot` - you may feel some power there. It is certainly a refreshing deep forest bath, short but steep hike accessible from trails at top of Hokuryu Lake and entrance on the main road straight up the mountain in neighboring Kosuge village. Not accessible in deep winter, don`t attempt until earliest late March.
