1. Bogenšperk Castle The Heart of Slovenia can be seen best from a lookout point, such as the mighty Bogenšperk Castle in the proximity of Šmartno pri Litiji, situated at the altitude of 412 metres. The renowned polyhistor Janez Vajkard Valvasor enjoyed this stunning view in the 17th century. Today one can visit a collection of attire, superstition, copper typography and alchemy magic collection andstylistically arranged castle halls, such as Valvasor’s study with an original copy of the book The Glory of the Duchy of Carniola (1689). In addition to individual visits, large groups of visitors can make prior arrangements for an animated tour around the castle with the baroness Ana Maximila and the castle keeper Jurij, as well as for pedagogical programmes. Bogenšperk Castle is an excellent place for weddings – in the castle hall or under the mighty treetops of the castle tree alley. There is also the Castle tavern, where you can make arrangements for the wedding ceremony or other personal and business celebrations. You can even organise a picnic here! Bogenšperk Castle is a unique environment for various business events: seminars, conferences, presentations, banquets and picnics. You can reserve individual rooms or the whole castle!
