New Zealands famous 309 road is a scenic 20km journey which crosses the backbone of the Coromandle from east to west. A spectacular grove of large Kauri trees, Waiau Water Falls ,The Waterworks fun park and cafe, Coromandle Mussel Kitchen, and lots more to see and do. A fun day out.

This winding road crosses the peninsula fron the west to east and takes you past many attractions and through Native forest. Steeped in history this road is one well worth travelling. Though not sealed it is still a stunning journey.

Before Whitianga the turn off to the 309 road, this road goes over the mountain to Coromandel Town. Very skinny and dirt track, dont try on rainy days. Great views and the pig guy w/ his little pigs

An interesting drive to Coromandel. Its a dirt road, but is fascinating. Lovely native bush & nice walks particularly to see some magnificent Kauri trees.
