This is a big screen that’s a permanent fixture in the heart of Hayes Valley. It is exceptionally curated by Malcolm Pullinger, who used to curate for Wholphin, McSweeney’s quarterly DVD magazine. He is connected with programmers at Sundance and a lot of other festivals, so he’s able to pull out some really great films that aren’t even out yet. They have a really incredible projector, and the sound is fantastic. There’s no seating, so bring a chair or you can rent these squares of artificial grass. There’s also a ton of great food and drinks available. My wife and I usually just grab a blanket and pack some food. Oh, and it’s free!
