SweetArt is my favorite bakery in the city. Their hours are limited but their cupcakes and brownies are worth the obscurity. They also have a plethora of vegan options. Their Saturday brunch offers GIANT cinnamon rolls and I cannot recommend their spicy “chicken” sandwich more highly - it was featured on Netflix’s Fresh Fried and Crispy!

Husband-and-wife owners Cbabi and Reine Bayoc operate SweetArt as a vegetarian and vegan restaurant, a bakeshop and a gallery for Cbabi's artwork. The lunch menu is good: sandwiches, chili, a soup of the day. The standout dish is the "Sweet Burger," a veggie burger like no other - a mixture of nuts, chopped vegetables and textured vegetable protein that's as satisfying as a burger without trying to replicate the taste or texture of meat. The grilled cheese sandwich is very good, as is the three-bean chili. Save room for dessert, including cupcakes, cookies and other baked goods.
