The walk between the Park and the waterfall follows the Hatea River. There are many picnic spots and fresh water swimming holes. This is an easy walk, with some short steep climbs, that is suitable for all ages and it is a popular running track for many locals.

Lovely walk ways, including access to the Whangarei Falls, Reed Park Falls & the canopy walk that leads to mighty Kauri trees and plenty of bird life. Additionally the Hatea river provides swimming opportunities. NZ's native bush is at its best ... and it is just around the corner from us!

Several starting points just 5 min from the town centre, to pop in to view up close the great Kauri trees, waterfall and stream. A very easy to reach, and handy way to get relief from the heat and enjoy the bush sights and sounds.

Just a short walk over some bridges to some large kauri trees and some nice native NZ bush
