The San Antonio missions we named a World heritage site several years ago. You can drive to each mission separately, or take our mission reach trail and bike along the San Antonio River to view each one!
How the City got its start Spanish/Native tribes interface 1700's style! National Historic Park 6 Outposts were established by Catholic religious orders to spread Christianity among the local natives.
One of only 24 UNESCO World Heritage sites in the US (and Texas’s only!), the Missions and the Mission trail connecting them are a beautiful way to see some of San Antonio’s history and enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, biking or paddling the San Antonio River.
Our San Antonio Missions are part of the historic tradition of our city. There is also a bike/walk trail and kayac rentals are available.
