Funny story: the two boroughs of Bamberg could not decide if the town hall should be built on the one or the other borough. So they built it in between on a bridge above the river.

Probably the most iconic building in Bamberg. If you've googles this town.. then you saw the old town hall in most of the pictures. It's in the middle of the upper bridge.

Das Alte Rathaus in Bamberg steht mitten im Fluss Regnitz & ist eine einzigartige Schönheit. Der Sage nach wollte der Bischof von Bamberg den Bürgern keinen Platz für den Bau eines Rathauses gewähren. Deshalb rammten die Bamberger Pfähle in die Regnitz & schufen eine künstliche Insel, auf der sie das Gebäude errichteten.
