Great place to do shopping and buy fresh products. It is a very popular place and can be busy on Saturday. Good to sample local cheese and homemade black podding. We love the cheese and onion pie from Katsoursis! There are plenty of cafes serving full English breakfast

“Looking for a late-night cuppa and maybe a slice to go with it? Chapter one should be your first stop. Open until midnight every night serving the usual drinks and usually with a selection of 3+ vegan cakes including brownies. Really chill atmosphere, great for working or meeting friends.”

“Albert Square is a public square in the centre of Manchester, England. It is dominated by its largest building, the Grade I listed Manchester Town Hall, a Victorian Gothic building by Alfred Waterhouse. Other smaller buildings from the same period surround it, many of which are listed (the buildings on the north side are in Princess Street). The square contains a number of monuments and statues, the largest of which is the Albert Memorial, a monument to Prince Albert, Prince consort of Queen Victoria. The square, named after the Prince, was laid out to provide a space for the memorial in 1863–67. Work on the town hall began in 1868 and was completed in 1877.”

“GRUB Food Fair is in town every weekend. It is located under the railway arches in winter, and is taken outdoors to the nearby Mayfield Gatehouse in the summer. Street food vendors from around the UK come to showcase some amazing dishes (from Hungarian chimney cakes to chicken parmos). There is also a bar serving real ale and a selection of posh spirits. Grub goes vegan every Sunday for Plant Powered Sundays. Children are welcome and there is a small play area.”
