We love to go tubing in the Great Smokey National Park at Deep Creek. Tube rental is easy and affordable and the tubing is very relaxing with a rushing creek. Please remember to secure / waterproof all valuables/ glasses etc. There is a high chance you will flip over! While you are there check out the sites in Bryson City, a very quaint town.

Floating down the river in the Deep Creek Recreational area of the Smoky Mountain National Park is an all day event. Get your tubes early and set up a base camp - there are picnic tables, restrooms and charcoal grills in the parking area. To float down the river you just grab your tube and walk up to the launch spot. You’ll float right back to your base camp in the parking area. You can float the river as many times as you feel like- your $5 tube rental (per tube) is good all day. Entrance to the recreational area is free and parking is free. The float down the river is exciting, relaxing, and fun. The hike to the launch spot isn’t too difficult- our kids had no problem hiking it while holding their tubes (ages 7-13 on their first trip). This is hands down our family’s favorite summer time activity in the mountains.
