Located 25 km from De Velde Estate one finds Stark-Condé Wines in the picturesque Jonkershoek Valley in Stellenbosch. It is a dramatic valley with steep changes in vineyard elevation from 150 to 600 meters, making for a range of sites with distinct characteristics. Their wines are hand-crafted in small volumes using traditional methods: hand sorting, open-top fermentations, hand punch-downs and manual basket pressing. All the Stark-Condé wines are bottled without fining and filtration. The higher elevations and textured soils of the Jonkershoek Valley are ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varietals. Jonkershoek wines are often described as elegant and soft.
