Located in a marina that can best be described as "authentically Montgomery", the Capitol Oyster Bar is a go-to spot for locals. If you 're in town on Sunday, don't miss their jazz/blues shows typically starting at 5p. Cajun/southern food, craft beer, wine, and cocktails...what else do you want? :)

You can't make a better future until you fully understand the past. In this case, EJI (Equal Justice Initiative) has given a detailed account of African-American history in the U.S., especially the South...a history as they show, that continues til this day. Highly recommend.

We recommend you visit the Legacy Museum first, then the Memorial. Both will challenge even the most 'enlightened' person but the reflective nature of the Memorial will give you the opportunity to start to make peace with our U.S. history.
