One of the most surreal places around, this lake in the desert is a great place to fish, go boating, take a swim or walk along the beach, yes, the beach! Just don't get your car stuck in the sand!

Caballo is a beautiful mountain lake. It is know for it's scenery and peace and quiet.

If you want to walk or run along the river, this is where to go. It is a small and simple park but offers some great nature watching. Follow the park to the end where it connects with a dirt road to extend your journey. It is located just three blocks south on Marr St.

Located just two blocks away, this park is named for the host of the "Truth or Consequences" game show. The park entrance is east of downtown, where Broadway, Austin and Cedar converge. The park has shade trees, picnic tables, a gazebo, basketball courts, playground equipment, free wireless internet, and Skateboard Park. The Sierra County Farmers Market is held there from May through October on Saturday mornings.
