These are all places we love that are very close to the apartment and an easy stroll (2-10min walk).
Belly Ham Pizza & Layered Cake Desserts! Super casual, friendly, and lively/boisterous atmosphere. Reservations are best, but walk-ins are usually easily accommodated right at opening at 5pm or after 8:30pm on weekdays.

Their burgers are small and unassuming, but the high-quality wagyu beef makes them so tender and delicious and perfect with the super crispy sweet potato fries and jack sauce.. We generally only get the basic cheeseburger and dip it in jack sauce. The meat is so tender and flavorful, the bun is perfectly soft and squishy on the outside and toasted on the inside. The fries are the best crinkle cut I've ever had. My young kids love this meal so much we have it a couple times a month!

This tiny little shop has simple, but yummy baguette sandwiches. We like the Paris and Brussels sandwiches and for a decadent treat in the summertime, we love the frozen hot chocolate. It's rich, chocolatey goodness.

Super casual pub-style food. This isn't really a foodie place. It's more of a simple lunch spot that's convenient if you live in that building and/or if you need a place that won't get mad at you for bringing your loud, silly baby (which I totally did many times).

My kids love ice cream and getting to walk to this little shop and watch them roll the ice cream is always a hit. There’s a big covered patio, too, which is nice. It’s right next to Waldo’s Chicken and Beer so it’s an easy add-on after we get Waldo’s (which doesn’t have dessert).

Randy likes the breakfast tacos and I usually get the savory sweet "maple bacon" crepe (that also has apple and cheese in it). The coffee drinks here are not as sophisticated as some of the other places nearby (like Barista Parlor or Steadfast Coffee), but we're happy with the basic lattes, and somewhat affordable menu here (especially for Germantown!).

Germantown's new spot for tacos and margaritas! I've enjoyed the peruvian chicken with chimichurri sauce so far, but it was good in a simple, homey way! Can't wait to try the drink specials!

They don’t have a huge selection, but it’s a special treat when we get snacks or a light dinner from there.
