On the northern coast of Koh Samui is the famous Big Buddha shrine. Probably Samui's most well known landmark, the 12-metre high golden Buddha can be seen from several kilometres away. Inside the surrounding temple are many different shrines and other smaller ornate Buddhas. There is also a small market selling a wide range of lucky charms and other souvenirs, alongside numerous food stalls.

Within sight of Koh Samui, Ang Thong park is a protected area of more than 100sqkm of land and sea, and home to a rich variety of exotic wildlife and sea creatures.

Every Friday, the whole area becomes the site of the Fisherman’s Village Walking Street market, attracting huge numbers of shoppers from across the island for the amazing variety of wares and the lively atmosphere.

Relax on the terraced decks whether in the open air or in the covered seating areas and with fantastic 270 degree views of the ocean and surrounding islands. The menu offers ‘New Asian Cuisine with a crossover accent’ and is a fine exponent of the fast becoming popular ‘slow cuisine.

Featuring a large outdoor deck with swimming pool, the bar has a stunning contemporary style enhanced by the panoramic view over the sea, which encompasses the northeastern part of Samui, and Koh Phangan lying some 12km away off the shore. Even though the bar doesn’t directly face the sunset, it offers a pleasant sundowner spot due to its amazing view. Note that there’s a 600 baht entrance fee applied between 11:00 and 18:30, which can be redeemed against food and beverages
