Food Scene

The food is delicious, beautifully served and the place is probably the most elegant and civilised restaurant nearby. They have european standard of service as well, which you can't say about most other places... It's not too dear either, so could be your treat for you couple of times!

The map shows another place "Karczma Młyn", which is also ok and recommended for an evening drink, but the recommendation is for the Traditional Ice Cream on the corner of the pond and the entry to the park, it's at the other end of the walkway. These are the ice cream I remember form my childhood, delicious. Be aware that their portion is actually half a scoop! It's a unique way of serving, some say it's mean but the ice cream are delicious anyway :-)

Sightseeing

It'a beautiful place with stud farm where you can see the horses. You can get there by bicycle and it's a lovely quiet, cycle-only route through forest and Roztoczański National Park. It's a must-go!

It's a nice place to educate yourself about wildlife of Roztoczański National Park. Not much in English, but I think you can get an English-speaking guide. They have an amazing exhibition with real stuffed animals (maybe not such a great deal if you are a vegetarian or animal lover, but the animals all died of other causes and were then used for the museum) and recreation of their natural environment with real sounds. You are guided through the exhibition while only parts of it lit up, it's amazing for kids, but inspirational for all. Highly recommended even if this would be the only thing you see at the museum! Directly opposite the museum there is a stunning foot path through the forest, with a lot of wooden stairs leading to Beech Hill ("Bukowa Góra") where you can admire breathtaking views of a nearby village Sochy and the fields which form amazing colourful patches, we call them "field carpets", but I guess it doesn't sound as appealing in English as it does in Polish... It takes about 1-1.5h to get up the hill, where you can sit and rest, have picnic etc. You can also go down at the other end and make a cirlce via Echo Lake ("Stawy Echo"). It's a lovely plan for good half a day. This is also probably the nicest and the most popular walk in Zwierzyniec.

Really worth a visit! Beautiful city with an amazing architecture, designed by Bernando Morando, and Italian architect for the Zamoyski family in XVI century. The historical centre of Zamość was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1992. Wikipedia says: "Zamość is a unique example of a Renaissance town in Central Europe, consistently designed and built in accordance with the Italian theories of the "ideal town," on the basis of a plan which was the result of perfect cooperation between the open-minded founder, Jan Zamoyski, and the outstanding architect, Bernardo Morando. Zamość is an outstanding example of an innovative approach to town planning, combining the functions of an urban ensemble, a residence, and a fortress in accordance with a consistently implemented Renaissance concept. The result of this is a stylistically homogeneous urban composition with a high level of architectural and landscape values. A real asset of this great construction was its creative enhancement with local artistic architectural achievements.[1]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zamo%C5%9B%C4%87

Arts & Culture

It's a heritage museum showing you a real home (plus a barn, tools, working bread stove etc) of a peasant from the XIX. They have a restaurant, too with delicious food but it's quite pricey! 100 m further there is a place which sells home-made bread and other yummy stuff - it is owned by our friend Beata. They actually hand-knead the bread dough and we buy our bread from them. Don't miss her rustic booth when leaving Guciów! http://www.guciow.pl/
